My background and education involves a systemic approach to counseling. I believe that the current issue a family or couple is facing involves the system within which they live. Therefore, this viewpoint incorporates all members of the family and both partners in a relationship. The external factors that we all deal with on a day-to-day basis are taken into account and no one is "blamed" for where their relationship currently stands or the issues they currently face.
I believe that couples and families have many strengths and qualities that bring them together and keep them together. It is my job to help couples and families recognize their strengths and provide the tools and support you need to resolve your current issues. Using a collaborative approach, I strive to meet the client(s) where they are and work together to accomplish their therapeutic and relationship goals.
To me, clients are an integral part of the therapeutic process and the true expert on their family, relationship, and situation. In counseling, we will work together to resolve the problems you and your loved ones are currently facing. Counseling should encourage, support, and stimulate all members of the system and therefore allow all relationships to get back to where each person would like them to be.
